1. Who we are

AKHUNSTECH (Pvt) Ltd, a private limited company registered in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and trading as Akhuns Media, with its registered office in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is the controller of personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@akhunsmedia.com.

2. Scope

This policy covers two distinct situations. First, personal data we collect when you visit akhunsmedia.com or correspond with us. Second, our role in the programmatic advertising delivered on publisher websites that we monetise. Those publishers operate their own websites and publish their own privacy policies; this policy explains our part, not theirs.

3. Data we collect on this website

When you visit this website we collect technical data that your browser transmits automatically, including IP address, user agent, referring page, requested pages and timestamps. This is recorded in server logs for security and diagnostic purposes. When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and whatever you choose to write. When you apply as a publisher, we additionally collect your website URL, traffic figures, revenue figures, business details and payment details.

4. Why we process it and our lawful basis

We process website technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site. We process correspondence and application data on the basis of steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, and thereafter on the basis of performance of that contract. We process business and payment records on the basis of our legal obligations under Pakistani company and tax law. Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have assessed that our interest is not overridden by your rights, and you may object at any time.

5. Advertising on publisher websites

On publisher websites we monetise, advertising is delivered through Google Ad Manager, Google AdX and third-party demand partners connected via header bidding and Open Bidding. Those systems and the advertisers bidding through them may set cookies or similar identifiers, and may process IP address, device and browser characteristics, approximate location, and inferred interest signals in order to select, deliver, cap, measure and bill advertising.

We do not build our own cross-site advertising profiles, we do not sell personal data, and we do not operate an identity graph. Our role is to configure and operate the ad serving stack on the publisher’s behalf. Where the publisher’s users are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the publisher is responsible for operating a consent management platform that obtains and transmits valid consent, and we require this as a condition of working with us.

6. Cookies

This website uses only cookies strictly necessary for its operation, including a session cookie when an administrator signs in. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on akhunsmedia.com. Cookies encountered on publisher websites are governed by that publisher’s cookie notice and consent flow.

7. Who we share data with

We share personal data with our hosting and email providers, with Google as the operator of Ad Manager and AdX, with demand partners connected to our network for the purpose of ad delivery and measurement, with payment providers used to remit publisher revenue, and with professional advisers, auditors and regulators where required. We do not sell personal data to anyone. Where a recipient acts as our processor, we bind them by contract to act only on our instructions.

8. International transfers

We are established in Pakistan and our service providers operate globally, so personal data may be transferred outside the country in which it was collected, including to the United States and the European Union. Where such a transfer involves personal data protected under the GDPR or UK GDPR, we rely on the recipient’s own adequacy position or on standard contractual clauses as appropriate.

9. Retention

Server logs are retained for 90 days. Correspondence is retained for two years from the last exchange. Declined publisher applications are retained for twelve months so we can recognise a resubmission. Records relating to an active or former publisher relationship, including financial records, are retained for the period required by applicable company and tax law and then deleted.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Exercising any of these rights costs nothing and does not disadvantage you. Write to privacy@akhunsmedia.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK and are unsatisfied with our response, you may complain to your national supervisory authority.

11. Advertising choices

You can limit interest-based advertising through your browser and device settings, through Google’s own ad settings, and through the industry opt-out tools operated by the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Network Advertising Initiative and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance. Opting out reduces personalisation; it does not remove advertising.

12. Children

Our services are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. We require publishers to correctly designate child-directed inventory so that personalised advertising is disabled on it. If you believe we hold data relating to a child, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Security

We apply access controls, encryption in transit, and least-privilege administration to the systems that hold personal data. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected individuals and any competent authority where a breach is likely to result in a risk to their rights.

14. Changes

We will update this policy as our services change and will revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting publishers will additionally be notified by email.
